Barcelona’s Olympic Archery Range, completed in 1991, required a quick design and construction and Miralles-Pinós created a prefabricated modular wall system. The architects added two new archery facilities to the complex separated by the length of an archery range. The site chosen for the competition was previously a rugby and soccer field. The plan shows an overlay of organic curves and rectilinear shapes working in harmony and was derived from extrapolations of the preexisting topographical contour lines. Its completion helped launch the husband-and-wife partnership into international stardom.
